NAPE To Begin Ratification Process For 16 Collective Agreements

Government and NAPE have quietly reached deals on 16 collective agreements.

Each is subject to ratification by over 21,000 union members across the province.

Those tentative agreements will go to the membership over the next few weeks for ratification, after which contract details will be released.

The agreements cover most provincial public service employees, but NAPE President Jerry Earle says other negotiations are still ongoing.

Bargaining units at Memorial University and the Marine Institute covering campus enforcement, maintenance workers, some faculty and others have yet to hammer out deals.

However, Earle says “stay tuned” as they hope to reach agreements sooner rather than later.
